Public Hearing and Adoption of Ordinances 855, 856, and 857.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Borough Council of the Borough of Myerstown, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania will hold a public hearing to receive questions and comments on Ordinances 855, 856, and 857 at its meeting to be held on October 13, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at the Myerstown Community Center situate at 101 South Railroad Street, Myerstown, Myerstown Borough, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.

Proposed Ordinance 855 enacts a codification of Borough Ordinances.  The Ordinance would amend and update the Code of Ordinances of the Borough of Myerstown by codifying and thereby incorporating all Ordinances that have been adopted since the last codification date in 2016. 

Proposed Ordinance 856 amends the provisions of the Code of Ordinances related to Stopping, Standing, Parking and Municipal Off-Street Parking Facilities.  The Ordinance would prohibit parking along the east and west sides of North Railroad Street in the area approaching Route 422; establishes regulations for parking in spaces designated for charging a plug-in electric vehicle; provides regulations for the parking lot at the Myerstown Community Center located along South Railroad Street; amends the information regarding the location of reserved spaces for Persons with a Disability or Disabled Veterans; and amends and clarifies areas designated for parking during snow emergencies.

Proposed Ordinance 857 authorizes the designation of on-street parking spaces reserved for persons with a disability or severely disabled veterans at or near their residences.  The Ordinance sets forth definitions; provides for the designation of on-street parking spaces for persons with a disability or severely disabled veterans; establishes application, review, and approval procedures; sets forth annual renewal and termination provisions; provides for enforcement; prohibits parking in certain spaces other than by persons with a disability or severely disabled veterans; and establishes violations and penalties.

After receiving questions and comments, the Borough Council intends to vote on Ordinances 855, 856, and 857 following the conclusion of the public hearing during its regular public meeting on October 13, 2020.  Copies of the Ordinances may be reviewed at the Myerstown Community Center situate at 101 S.
