Community Health Council of Lebanon County Cancels Annual "Youth Only Fishing Day" for 2021

The Borough has received word from the Lebanon County Children & Youth Services that the annual "Youth Only Fishing Day" will be cancelled for 2021.

Each spring, the Community Health Council of Lebanon County hosts an event where Lebanon County youth ages 3 (or old enough to hold a fishing rod) to 17 are invited to participate at the Tulpehocken Creek and Fish Dam at the Myerstown Recreation Area.  The "Youth Only Fishing Day" began in 2002 as an effort to get youth involved in outdoor activity and to introduce them to fishing without the adult pressures that occur on the first day of trout season.  A section of the creek is stocked with trout for the event, made possible through community donations.
