National Night Out
National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event celebrated by communities all throughout America to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie in an effort to make communities safer. NNO was started in 1984 by Matt Peskin of the National Association of Town Watches (NATW). Block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, various other community events are held in more than 16,000 communities across all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide, according to the NATW website.
The Night Out is organized and put on by the ELCO Activity Network. Music, food, fun & games, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much more.
