Donations from Local Businesses Help Replace Salt Shed Roof

The Borough expresses its sincere thanks to GAF MATERIALS LLC, Ron's Woodworking, and TNT Sanitation for their donations to help repair and replace the roof on the salt storage shed.

The salt storage shed is located at the Public Works Maintenance Facility at 515 S College St.  It was built in 1978 and is used to store road salt that is purchased every year and used by our snow plow drivers to manage ice and snow on the roads during the winter.  The structure has not been updated since it was built 46 years ago!

In 2023, MVP President Denise Goudley connected the Borough with a representative from GAF who was looking for projects to help the community.  When they learned of the state of the salt storage shed roof, they immediately offered to donate materials for a roof replacement project.  They donated all the underlayment and shingles for the project, along with other installation materials.

Ron Ream, Council Member and owner of Ron's Woodworking, volunteered his company's labor for the project.  Each year, Ron's Woodworking donates money to several Borough events, and donates labor to a project.  This year, that project was replacing the salt storage shed roof.

Terry Tobias, owner of TNT Sanitation, donated a large dumpster to the project.  Mr. Tobias also donates his services to several Borough events and causes.

In addition, the Borough thanks Mayor Dane Bicher, who volunteered his time to help with the project.

The project was completed on March 25, 2024.  This was a much-needed project that provided an upgrade to a vital borough asset.  It was made possible because of the generosity of our local businesses and residents.  THANK YOU!
